Geometrías Dinámicas

Geometrías Dinámicas is a kinetic sculpture inspired by classical geometric patterns, creating triangular and square-based pyramids that form a three-dimensional mandala that is both static and dynamic. Composed of three concentric rings of different heights, the piece uses folded dichroic paper to transform this ephemeral material into a rigid and durable structure. The transparent acrylic bases, laser-cut, allow for the smooth rotation of the rings.

The creative process involved using Rhino and Grasshopper to design and simulate the rhombic-trihexagonal tessellation. The pyramids were unfolded, cut, and assembled manually.

Designed to be touched and manipulated, the artwork invites visitors to rotate the rings and observe how light and shadows change with the movement, surprising and delighting through the play of reflections and rotations.
